Position Available: Team Leader

Commercial District Services, LLC., provides outdoor maintenance and hospitality services in northern New Jersey and it has an opening for a capable and enthusiastic individual to serve as a Team Leader to lead our Clean Team members and Hospitality Ambassadors in providing outstanding service to our clients and help make a difference in the communities we serve. This position reports to the Operations Manager.
In a position that reports to the firm’s Operations Managers, our Team Leaders – who also have a dual role as a Hospitality Ambassador - perform a variety of tasks that are focused on improving and maintaining the quality-of-life and overall appearance of our client’s commercial districts, properties and public spaces including:
Clean Team and Hospitality Ambassadors/Quality-of-Life Supervision . While patrolling on-foot, in a vehicle or on a Segway Personal Transporter (www.segway.com), Team Leaders monitor Clean Team and Hospitality Ambassador Performance, measure district cleanliness and are watchful for activities which undermine the district’s quality of life experience for visitors and others to the district. Team Leaders provide direct hospitality assistance and when necessary dispatch other Ambassadors to provide instruction, direct them to areas of need and oversee the successful completion of tasks.
While on patrol Team Leaders go out of their way to actively acknowledge pedestrians with a friendly greeting or identify visitors in order to provide directions and information.
Communications and Reporting. Team Leaders must be able to use a digital camera and provide written reports to document broken/damaged amenities, graffiti/illegal signage/posters on public/private property, and provide basic daily reports related to personnel attendance, disciplinary actions, equipment and supply inventories, and descriptions of accomplishments and tasks completed.
Team Building, Leadership and Professionalism. Team Leaders must be able to provide direction, mentor team members and communicate effectively with team members to ensure a cohesive team effort on projects each day and to keep their team motivated and positive.
Team Leaders must also lead by example and help maintain a clean and safe work area that is in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures and overall standards expected by Commercial District Services.
Physical Abilities. If called upon, Team Leaders must have the physical capacity to walk continuously during an eight hour shift, with normal breaks (two fifteen minutes, and one thirty minute meal break), and be willing to learn how to operate and be physically able to ride a Segway Personal Transporter.
Team Leaders must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Other Skills/Requirements
- Be a minimum of 18 years of age
- Possess a valid NJ drivers license
- Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate
- Pass drug screening , motor vehicle and criminal background checks
- Evidence a solid work ethic and verifiable work and driving history
- Have the ability to use a computer, the Internet and email services
- Experience in the customer service, hotel/hospitality, police/security industries are a plus
Salary and Benefits
- Hourly pay rate up to $12 per hour and will increase based on performance reviews and aptitude.
- Annual compensation up to $31,200.

- Full and part time employment and weekend and night shift available.
- Personal days up to 12 in first year of employment for full time employees.
- Employees working over 25 hours each week will also be paid for firm holidays. Currently CDS offers 3 holidays annually.
